How to find strength in the word of God

_Title:_ Finding Strength in God's Word

_Scripture:_ Psalm 119:28 (NIV) - "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word."

_Devotional:_

Have you ever felt like you're running on empty? Like the weight of the world is crushing you, and you're not sure how much more you can take? You're not alone. We all go through times of weakness and exhaustion, where it feels like we're barely holding on.

But here's the good news: God's Word is a source of strength for us in times of weakness. In Psalm 119:28, the psalmist cries out to God, "My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word." The psalmist recognizes that he's weak and needs God's strength to carry on.

And that's exactly what God's Word does for us. It strengthens us, encourages us, and gives us hope. It reminds us that we're not alone, that God is always with us, and that He's working everything out for our good.

So how can you find strength in God's Word during times of weakness?

1. _Read God's Word regularly_: Make it a habit to read God's Word every day, even if it's just for a few minutes.

2. _Meditate on God's Word_: Take time to reflect on what you've read, and ask God to help you apply it to your life.

3. _Memorize God's Word_: Memorizing Scripture can help you recall God's promises and truths when you need them most.

4. _Pray God's Word back to Him_: Use Scripture as a basis for your prayers, and ask God to help you apply His truths to your life.

_Prayer:_

Dear Heavenly Father, I'm feeling weak and exhausted. Please strengthen me according to Your Word. Help me to remember Your promises and truths, and give me the courage to apply them to my life. Thank you for Your Word, which is a source of strength and hope for me. Amen.

_Reflection Questions:_

1. What are some times in your life when you've felt weak and exhausted?

2. How have you found strength in God's Word during those times?

3. What are some ways you can make God's Word a bigger part of your daily life?

_Action Step:_

Take a few minutes to read Psalm 119, and reflect on how the psalmist finds strength in God's Word. Ask God to help you apply the truths of this psalm to your own life, and to give you the strength you need to carry on.
