How to Start Walking by Wisdom

_Devotional: Walking by Wisdom_

_Scripture:_ Proverbs 3:13-18, 4:10-12, Ephesians 5:15-17

_Introduction:_

Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads, unsure of which path to take? Or perhaps you've faced a difficult decision, and you're not sure what the right choice is. As Christians, we're called to walk by wisdom, trusting in God's guidance and direction. Today, let's explore what it means to walk by wisdom and how we can apply it to our daily lives.

_The Blessing of Wisdom:_

In Proverbs 3:13-18, we read about the blessings of wisdom. Wisdom is described as a tree of life, bringing happiness, peace, and prosperity to those who possess it. Wisdom is not just about knowledge or intelligence; it's about living a life that honors God and follows His principles.

_The Path of Wisdom:_

In Proverbs 4:10-12, we're encouraged to "listen to wisdom" and "not depart from her words." Wisdom is described as a path that leads to life, and we're urged to stay on that path. This means being intentional about seeking wisdom, listening to wise counsel, and making choices that align with God's Word.

_Walking by Wisdom:_

In Ephesians 5:15-17, we're encouraged to "be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil." This verse reminds us that we're living in a world that often opposes God's wisdom. To walk by wisdom means being mindful of our choices, seeking God's guidance, and making the most of every opportunity to honor Him.

_Practical Application:_

So, how can we apply the principle of walking by wisdom to our daily lives? Here are a few practical tips:

1. _Seek wise counsel:_ Surround yourself with people who are wise and discerning, and seek their counsel when faced with difficult decisions.

2. _Study God's Word:_ The Bible is our ultimate source of wisdom. Take time to study and meditate on God's Word, seeking wisdom and guidance for your life.

3. _Pray for wisdom:_ Ask God to grant you wisdom and discernment, especially when faced with difficult decisions or uncertain circumstances.

4. _Be intentional about your choices:_ Take time to reflect on your choices and actions, ensuring that they align with God's principles and wisdom.

_Conclusion:_

Walking by wisdom is a choice that requires intentionality and discipline. By seeking wise counsel, studying God's Word, praying for wisdom, and being intentional about our choices, we can walk by wisdom and honor God in our daily lives.

_Prayer:_

Dear Heavenly Father, grant me wisdom and discernment as I navigate the challenges of life. Help me to seek wise counsel, study Your Word, and pray for guidance. Give me the courage to make choices that align with Your principles and wisdom. In Jesus' name, Amen.
