Rooted, Not Shaken

Rooted, Not Shaken"*

*Devotional for November 20, 2025*

*Scripture*

Jeremiah 17:7–8 (MSG) — *“But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers — never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.”*

*Reflection*

True stability in life doesn’t come from what’s around us, but who we’re rooted in. When our trust is in God, we can thrive even in hard seasons. Drought may come, pressure may rise — but if your roots go deep in God, you’ll still bear fruit. The heat doesn’t destroy you, it reveals what you’re rooted in.

*Key Takeaways*

- *Trusting God brings stability, not fear.*

- *Roots determine fruit — go deep in prayer, word, and obedience.*

- *God can make you fruitful in every season, even dry ones.*

*Prayer*

Father, help me to stay rooted in You, not shaken by life’s pressure. Teach me to trust You daily, to draw from Your living water, and to keep bearing fruit no matter the season. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

*Application*

- Journal: Where do you find your stability — God or circumstances?

- Set aside time today to read a chapter from the Bible that strengthens your faith.

- Speak a word of encouragement to someone who feels shaken or overwhelmed today.
