*Devotional: The Gift of Grace*
*Scripture:* Ephesians 2:8-9 (NIV)
"For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast."
Reflection
Grace is a fundamental aspect of our relationship with God. It's the unmerited favor and love that God shows us, despite our flaws and shortcomings. Grace is a gift that brings us salvation, hope, and transformation.
The Nature of Grace
1. *Unmerited favor*: Grace is not something we deserve or earn; it's a gift from God (Romans 5:6-8).
2. *Gift of salvation*: Grace brings us salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ (Ephesians 2:8-9).
3. *Transforming power*: Grace has the power to transform our lives, giving us new life and purpose (2 Corinthians 5:17).
Living in Grace
1. *Accepting God's gift*: We accept God's gift of grace through faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24-25).
2. *Living in humility*: We live in humility, recognizing that our salvation and blessings come from God's grace (1 Peter 5:6-7).
3. *Extending grace to others*: We extend grace to others, showing them the same kindness and love that God has shown us (Matthew 18:21-35).
A Prayer for Grace
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for the gift of grace that brings us salvation and hope. Help me to live in humility, recognizing that everything I have comes from You. Give me the courage to extend grace to others, just as You have extended it to me.
In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
Action Step
Take a few moments to reflect on the gift of grace in your life. Consider how you can live in humility and extend grace to others. Think about ways to thank God for His unmerited favor and love.
