Why Commitment is so Important in aiming high

**Title: The Power of Commitment**

**Scripture Reading: Ruth 1:16-17**

*"But Ruth replied, 'Don’t urge me to leave you or to turn back from you. Where you go, I will go, and where you stay, I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God. Where you die I will die, and there I will be buried. May the Lord deal with me, be it ever so severely, if even death separates you and me.’”*

**Reflection:**

Commitment is a powerful force that can transform lives, deepen relationships, and reveal God's purposes. In the story of Ruth, we see one of the most beautiful examples of commitment in the Bible. Ruth chose to stay with her mother-in-law, Naomi, even though it meant leaving her homeland, family, and comfort behind. Her unwavering dedication not only changed her life but positioned her to become part of God’s redemptive plan through the lineage of Jesus Christ.

Commitment requires more than words; it demands action, sacrifice, and trust in God's faithfulness. Whether in marriage, ministry, or daily responsibilities, a committed heart reflects God's character. He is faithful to His promises, never leaving or forsaking us (Deuteronomy 31:6). When we commit our ways to Him, we experience His guidance and peace (Proverbs 3:5-6).

**The Power of Commitment:**

1. **It Brings Clarity:** Commitment aligns our priorities and removes distractions. When we are committed to a goal, relationship, or purpose, we can focus on what truly matters.

2. **It Builds Strength:** Challenges will come, but commitment gives us the resolve to press on. Like Ruth, we trust that God will provide and sustain us.

3. **It Reflects God's Love:** True commitment mirrors God's unconditional love. It reminds us of Christ's commitment to redeem humanity through the cross.

**Prayer:**

Heavenly Father, thank You for Your unwavering commitment to me. Teach me to reflect that same commitment in my relationship with You and others. Help me to remain steadfast in faith, even in challenging times. Let my life demonstrate the power of commitment to Your glory. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
