Why It is Important To Declare Positive Things

**Devotional: The Power of Positive Confession**

**Scripture Focus:**

_"Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."_ – Proverbs 18:21

Words carry incredible power. Every time we open our mouths to speak, we set things in motion—either for good or for harm. Positive confession is not just about saying nice things; it’s about aligning our words with God’s truth and promises.

In Genesis, we see God creating the world with His words. He said, *“Let there be light,”* and light came into existence. As His children, created in His image, our words also have the capacity to shape our reality.

When we confess positively, we declare God's promises over our lives, even when circumstances suggest otherwise. For example:

- Instead of saying, "I am afraid," we confess, *"God has not given me a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind" (2 Timothy 1:7).*

- Instead of saying, "I am lacking," we confess, *"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want" (Psalm 23:1).*

Positive confession doesn’t deny challenges or struggles; it declares faith in God’s ability to transform them. When we speak life-giving words rooted in Scripture, we activate heaven's power to intervene in our situations.

### Reflection Questions:

1. Are your daily confessions aligned with God’s Word?

2. How can you speak life into situations that seem hopeless?

### Prayer:

Heavenly Father, thank You for the power You’ve placed in my words. Teach me to speak words of faith, hope, and life over myself and others. Help me to trust in Your promises and declare them boldly, knowing that You are faithful to fulfill them. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

### Challenge:

This week, choose one area of your life where you’ve been speaking negatively. Replace those words with Scripture-based positive confessions, and watch how God works through your words!
