Don't Neglect the fellowship of the Brethren

*Don't Neglect the Fellowship of the Brethren*

_Hebrews 10:25 — "Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another..."_

_Acts 2:42 — "They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers."_

*Reflection*

Let’s be honest — it’s easy to drift.

Work is busy. Family needs you. Sunday service is online. "I’ll just catch the replay."

Before you know it, weeks go by and you haven’t sat with God’s people.

But God never called us to do this faith thing alone.

The early church didn’t just come for a sermon. They _devoted_ themselves to fellowship. Teaching, meals, prayers, life together. Why? Because we need each other.

Your faith gets stronger when someone prays for you on a hard day.

Your joy gets fuller when you laugh at the same table.

Your blind spots get corrected when someone loves you enough to tell you the truth.

Neglecting fellowship is like pulling a coal out of the fire. It goes cold fast.

But when we stay gathered, we stay on fire. We encourage each other. We bear burdens. We remember the gospel together.

*Application*

1. *Show up on purpose*: Put it on your calendar. Church, small group, prayer meeting. Be there, not just in body but present.

2. *Go beyond Sunday*: Invite someone for tea. Eat together. Text "how can I pray for you?" Real fellowship is life, not just a service.

3. *Bring something*: Encouragement, a meal, your gift, your story. Don’t just consume — contribute. The body needs you too.

*Prayer*

Father,

Thank You for giving me brothers and sisters.

Forgive me for the times I’ve isolated myself or made excuses.

Help me to value fellowship the way You do.

Give me a heart that runs toward community, not away from it.

Place me in places where I’m built up, and use me to build others up.

Let my home be open, my heart be available, and my life be connected.

Keep us from being lone Christians.

Make us a family that reflects Jesus to the world.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

We grow faster, stand stronger, and love better — together.
